DISCOVER SCHOOLS IN BURKE MOUNTAIN

Burke Mountain is part of School District No. 43 (Coquitlam). This school district is the third largest in British Columbia and serves the Tri-Cities, which includes Coquitlam, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam and the villages of Anmore and Belcarra.

Currently there are three elementary schools servicing the students residing in Burke Mountain. These schools are Smiling Creek Elementary (opened September 2018), Leigh Elementary and École Irvine Elementary, which is the nearest French immersion elementary school. The Burke Mountain area is scheduled to add two new elementary schools in the near future: Coast Salish Elementary (estimated completion - Fall 2023) and Marigold Elementary (estimated completion - TBD).

Students residing in Burke Mountain currently feed into either Minnekhada Middle School or École Kwayhquitlum Middle School, which is the nearest French immersion middle school. The Burke Mountain area has preliminary plans for a proposed new middle school and secondary school to be located southeast of Coast Meridian Road and David Avenue at 3400 David Avenue. The current preliminary plan is to open the new Burke Mountain secondary school in the Fall of 2026, subject to funding and approvals. The Burke Mountain secondary school will initially hold both middle and secondary students as an interim measure but will hold secondary students only once the middle school is built. Currently all secondary aged students living in Burke Mountain feed into Terry Fox Secondary.

Burke Mountain currently has two great daycares/preschools for children aged 1-5, these daycares/preschools are Westwood Montessori, and CEFA Learning Academy.
